Day 277: 40 Days of Prayer for Our Nation ~ Day 10 A Prayer for the President

Provers 21:1:
“In the Lord’s hand the king’s heart is a stream of water that He channels toward all who please Him.”

Dear Heavenly Father, today we draw near to You in prayer for our President who has contracted COVID-19. With all that he carries on his shoulders, this extra burden came as a surprise to him and to us, but not to You. We may not understand why, but we know that we can trust You for your sovereign will regarding the President’s health. We pray that this experience will cause Mr. Trump to draw near to You as never before; that he would listen for your voice and heed the instruction; that he would be helped, guided, and comforted by your Spirit. We pray that during some quiet moments that he would seek to read your Word, be inspired by it, and pray to come into your presence and relationship with new faith. We lift up his family, especially Mrs.Trump, for a full recovery, and that other family members would stay well, strong and protected from this disease and the stresses of the coming election. And, most of all, we pray for your mighty, healing hand to touch our President, to bring a speedy and complete healing, restoring him to a vigor and enthusiasm for the office of the presidency and the purpose for which he was elected. We’ve been praying for mercy in recent prayers; rain mercy down on the President today and in the days ahead, O God. In the healing power of Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

“Direct my thought, words and work, wash away my sins in the immaculate Blood of the Lamb, and purge my heart by Thy Holy Spirit…Daily frame me more and more into the likeness of Thy Son Jesus Christ.” ~ George Washington, 1st President of the United States
