Proverbs 31:28, 30-31:
“Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her…
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
Honor her for all that her hands have done,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.”
Dear Father in heaven, we praise You, sovereign God, that You ordained the unique role mothers have in this nation and all of us who are mothers recognize that that role is hard, perhaps the hardest thing a woman does. So much is at stake as we try to steer our charges towards being respectable, motivated, hard-working, citizens of America and God-honoring human beings. We thank You that we have the benefit of machines to do a lot of the chores and that You provide food for our tables to feed the family, even take-out on occasion. We thank You that we can lean on You for emotional, physical and spiritual strength to meet our personal needs and the needs of our families. You have anointed us as daughters of the King—grace-filled women—who are fulfilling our uniquely designed roles as mothers and grandmothers. Please do not allow the enemy to tear down what You, Lord, have built up and equipped us to do. Fill us with a passion to instill in our children and grandchildren all the love, encouragement and training in righteousness that compose a priceless inheritance to be passed down their children. Encourage each woman of our nation that what they do today in the lives of their children and grandchildren counts immeasurably—even after we are gone and no longer here to see it—having an impact on the generations to come. Lord, help us stay faithful to the divine task for which God has commissioned us. May we cling to You and trust in You for our future and the future of our nation. It is in Your name we pray, for the sake of our nation and for the sake of your kingdom to come. Amen
“My mother was the most beautiful woman I ever saw. All I am I owe to my mother. I attribute all my success in life to the moral, intellectual and physical education I received from her.” ~ George Washington
“All that I am or ever hope to be, I owe to my angel Mother.” ~ Abraham Lincoln
