A Season of Hope – Preparing Our Hearts for Easter
Hebrews 6:19
“We have this hope as an anchor for our soul, firm and secure.”

Not too long ago, we were celebrating Advent, when we focused on Christ’s coming to show us the way to true Joy, Hope, Peace, and Love. Advent means that something is coming, specifically, Jesus, and His birth. Now we are within weeks of marking another “coming,” Easter, the day we commemorate Jesus’ resurrection from the dead.
During His time on earth, many received Jesus, opening their hearts to receive His offer of eternal life. But many did not. Many knew He was the promised Hope they had prepared for, and never gave up during the long years of waiting. But many rejected the One who promised them Hope for eternity. Dear readers, Jesus came as Emmanuel with us, who is our promised Hope! We can place our faith in Him as our living Hope right now, not just as a temporary part of our Christmas and Easter celebrations that we pack away into boxes at the end of the season. He is our Emmanuel, who has come to be with us today and every day. And another celebration that awaits us is when, on that glorious day, Jesus, our promised Hope, comes to earth again to reign forever. Hold onto Jesus, our Hope of Advent, our Hope of Easter, our Hope Eternal!
Dear Jesus, Lord of Hope, we praise You for coming to be Emmanuel, God with us. We hold onto the promise of Hope You promised in Your birth, death, resurrection, and eventual return. May we be a reflection of that Hope, especially during this Easter season. We pray in the name of our promised Hope, Jesus. Amen.
