Day 20: Pray for Women – 40 Days of Prayer for Our Nation

Proverbs 31:30
“Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.”

Dear Lord, we have learned from reading Your Word that the greatest quality we can have is to fear the Lord, and that goes for women as well. Your desire is for each of us to have reverence for You and embrace Your love by having a fully-devoted relationship with Your Son, Jesus Christ. Your desire is that we live the lives You have given us with vigor and purpose, sharing our faith and extending grace to others.

You made us unique, for a special calling, to see new possibilities. You created us with a capacity to love, nurture, to be sensitive, encourage others, to show mercy and patience. We pray that You would cause each one of us to use all of these gifts to enrich our families, friends, church, and our nation.

We have seen so many examples in scripture—and in life—where one woman made a huge impact on the life of another. If we have little opportunity to have an impact on another, except as a result of our prayers, make us praying women! May women all over this nation have a burden to pray for the future of our country right now for our very future may depend on it.

Father, fill us with more of You, to be our strength, courage, light-bearer, comforter. Whatever station in life we find ourselves, whether single, married or widowed, we lay our lives before You and trust in your sovereign plan for our lives and the future. Guide us, heal us, teach us, and lead us. We pray in the name of our gentle Savior, Jesus. Amen.
