Proverbs 9:10:
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.”
Lord, as we enter into your sanctuary, whether in church buildings or in our homes, may the fear of You fill the hearts of men and women who come to worship on this Lord’s day. Help us to know your Word which shows us what is required for us to be wise men and women, and where true wisdom lies. No one can begin to become wise until one has a fear, a reverence, for You, Lord and this is the principal part of wisdom. Fear is an awe and reverence for the divine Being but often we fail to acknowledge that we must also have a fear of offending you, God. We love you and desire to serve and worship You. May your love be so deeply rooted in our hearts that we rightly worship You in spirit and truth, as individuals and as a nation. May we always be in awe of all your majesty and power. It is in Jesus we believe and in His name we pray. Amen.
Daniel 12:3:
“Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever.”
