Psalm 118:24
“This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”

“O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker. For He is our God; and we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand.”
Isaiah 58:13-14
“If you call the Sabbath a delight and the Lord’s holy day honorable… you will find your joy in the Lord.”
Why is it that I always preface the sabbath devotion with “Happy Sunday?” Our verse for today encourages us to greet the day with rejoicing and gladness for it was created by Him for our good. Honoring the Sabbath day is a way for us to hold it in reverence, or respect, set apart from the rest of the week. And by doing so He blesses us with grace, rest, fellowship, and most of all, His presence. Let us delight in the Lord’s holy day!
Holy, God, we offer our praise, worship and thanksgiving to You on this Lord’s day. May our praise be lifted to the heavens; may our worship be acceptable to You; my our thanksgiving be to You alone, for You alone are worthy of it all, and it is to Your glory and honor that we pray. Amen
