Luke 2:10-11
“Behold! I bring you good tidings of great joy that shall be to all people. For unto you has been born today in the city of David, a Savior Who is Christ the Lord.”
Today on this fourth Sunday of Advent, when we light the candle that symbolizes Love. It’s reminds us that God loved us so much that He sent His own Son to earth—the incarnation of the Father’s love in human flesh—to live among us and to die on the cross for us. With Christmas morning arriving very soon, the excitement and anticipation are palpable as little ones count down the hours until the big day finally arrives. Lately, my thoughts have been in anticipation of Christ’s return, when another big day will finally arrive and Jesus will reign on a new earth. I am anxiously waiting for that day! The celebration of Christmas is just the beginning. Come, thou long-awaited Jesus!
Our Quest ~ Author Unknown
It is in loving—not in being loved
The heart is blest;
It is in giving—not in seeking gifts
We find our quest.
Whatever be your longing and your need—
That you should give;
So shall your soul be fed,
And you indeed shall truly live.
Oh, Lord God, we thank You for showing us the ultimate love in Your Son, Jesus. May we love Him and others because He first loved us. We look forward to the day of His coming and, as we wait with anticipation, may He renew and fill our hearts to overwflowing with His love this Christmas. Maranatha! O Lord, come quickly! We pray in the name of Jesus, who is Love. Amen.
