Day 226: In Quietness and Hope

Psalm 62:5
“My soul, be quiet before God,
for from Him comes my hope.”

As one who is inclined to work rather than relax, sometimes I must force myself to take breaks, long or short. The past two years, when my body has cried out for extended quiet breaks, a transformation has taken place—my soul has also been more at rest. I have enjoyed the “quiet habitation” of dwelling with God, spending more time reflecting and praying. My heart is revived, my hope is secure.

Enjoy this August Saturday in quietness and hope, dear readers!

Dear heavenly Father, we praise you, Lord, for the quiet habitation You provide for us. We need not wander or search for meaning or purpose, peace or hope, in anyone or anything, for they can only be found in You. May we dwell in You with that confidence. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
